Farfalli
The Farfalli company is based in Maniago, a city known worldwide for the production of knives and cutlery in general. Farfalli was founded in June 1950 by Marino Farfalli, who had previously worked in a large cutlery factory. Production began with the manufacture of pocket knives (gadgets for tourists): images of the most important Italian cities were printed on these, as tourism in Italy developed strongly after the Second World War. Within a few years, the reference market expanded from Italy to the whole world; production was diversified and other promotional items were also produced, including pocket and waiter's corkscrews.
Demand for these items grew, and in the 70s, corkscrew manufacturing became the company's main activity. Farfalli began to specialize in this field, researching innovative solutions and new models, and today offers a wide selection of corkscrews, ranging from plastic to wood to stainless steel products. Later, the company was managed by Marino's sons Giovanni, Mario, Germano, and Armando. Since 2000, Farfalli has been led by Marino's nephew Daniele.
