The Grayl GeoPress filter removes pathogens from water, e.g., viruses, rotaviruses, bacteria, parasitic protozoa, pesticides, chemicals, heavy metals, and microplastics. The filter also improves the taste, odor, and clarity of the water by removing sediments, silt, and other impurities. With Grayl GeoPress, we can protect ourselves from viral hepatitis, salmonella, dysentery, cholera, and other deadly diseases.

Cleans, softens, and improves taste

At the heart of Grayl purification systems is an advanced activated carbon filter, responsible for the ion exchange process. This way, contaminated water is softened, purified, iron and manganese content is reduced, and the taste of the water is improved through the use of activated carbon.

Unlike conventional mechanical filtration, the Grayl filter uses electroabsorption components capable of removing pathogens and inorganic impurities in the submicron range.

While the water is "pressed," electroheating and ion exchange processes occur, creating an effective submicron trap for pathogens (viruses, bacteria, and parasitic protozoa).

The filter consists of several layers of finely powdered activated carbon, which is responsible for trapping toxins, i.e., chemicals and heavy metals. The filter also contains zeolites with silver ions, which are a natural antimicrobial agent that inhibits bacterial growth and improves the taste of the water.

Service life

The carbon filter's lifespan is 250 liters (approx. 350 uses) or 3 years from first use. Water with high levels of silt, sediment, and tannins can reduce filter performance and lifespan.

Towards the end of its lifespan, filtration time can increase to 25-30 seconds, but still offers effective protection against pathogens in dirty water.
